Interior Trend: Tropical Prints

Interior Trend: Tropical Prints
21st July 2017 Ollie Ody

After this week’s heat wave, it’s fair to say that we’re definitely getting in the mood for summer! Combine this lust for heat with the tropical print trend we’ve seen emerging over the last few months and it suddenly feels like there has been an explosion of palms & pineapples everywhere!

Incorporating touches of the tropical in your home has never been easier. Here is our pick of the bunch & how to style them.

Tropical Textiles:

Textiles are a great way of including new trend pieces easily & affordably. Finding a great version can be tricky but we’ve got you covered.

First up are these Palm Print Kitchen Towels, a simple product that has the power to instantly update the hub of the house. We love these water colour cacti & palm designs, a modern & chic depiction of the tropical trend.

We also love this simple but luxurious Ananas Bedspread which has a subtle embroidered pineapple print – layer with other throws or accompany with complimenting cushions.

Embrace colour:

Whether you prefer a pop of sunshine yellow or darker shades of indigo – bold colour choices work well with strong prints and can add a lot of character to your home.

Mixing these tropical details with brighter accent shades will create a vibrant look – interior instagrammer Erica Davies does this very well, check out her channel for some tips.

Accent with metallic detailing:

Warm golds or bronze shades work so well with these tropical prints. We love how designer Elizabeth Scarlett uses embroidery to elegantly evoke the feeling of warmer climbs. Her iconic designs include palm trees, pineapples & monstera leaves embroidered with flecks of gold for a luxurious feel.

There you have it, three ways to embrace the tropical trend! Have another suggestion? We would love to hear it – comment below & share your ideas.
